"Sterilization surgery" refers to a medical procedure that prevents someone from being able to have children. It is a permanent method of contraception that is usually done by either tying or cutting the tubes that carry eggs from a woman's ovaries to her womb, or by cutting or blocking a man's tubes that carry sperm. It is often chosen by people who have decided they do not want to have children in the future.
